Grit Cafe in New South Wales

"We really enjoyed this cafe. Service, food and atmosphere were all very much loved and appreciated by all x4 of us who dined. The “green bowl” was really delicious and I would order it again in a heartbeat. The veggie burger was apparently awesome and the smashed avocado was given a very good rating by my child. Smoothies were great too! Next time we’re stopping by, we’ll make a point to call in here for food, such a great cafe with super helpful and warm staff."

"This is a great place to stop at if your hungry, need a coffee and also need a bathroom. Everything was yummy that we order. The bathroom was clean. We will be coming again."

"I didn’t know this cafe existed in my own home town until today. And I am pleased that now I know! A lovely, fresh atmosphere, comfortable varied seating(even a small grass lawn where you can picnic), an innovative lovely menu and polite staff. Pros: Reasonably priced. The food was fresh and delicious! Coffee was tasty and well made. Freshly made gorgeous juices. And best of all, LOCALLY OWNED ANS OPERATED! I love this! Cons: It was very busy so it took a while for the food to come out. In saying that, it shows how popular this cafe is. It was noisy while it was busy. But quite as it became less busy. Our coffee could have been hotter. My closing opinion of Grit Cafe is that I love it! Highly recommend eating here. I will be back."

"On our trek from Sydney to Melbourne we stopped in Goulburn for the night and on our way out of town we visited the Grit Cafe. When we arrived it was pretty busy but our party of 6 managed to get a table. We placed our order at the counter and the staff were friendly and helpful. I ordered the pancakes minus the popcorn because to me it just didn't make sense. My wife ordered the avocado toast. Both orders came out in a timely manner and looked amazing. The whole table were all very pleased with their orders. All the food was fantastic!! The atmosphere was pleasant as well , not loud and very comfortable. If you're passing through Goulburn make it a stop on your list."

"Great fresh, healthy and inviting lunches & great coffee and loose leaf teas - the definite best choice in comparison to McDonalds the other side of the car park. Grit is definitely the far better choice. Friendly staff, cool vibe - food was fab - corn fritters for the thumbs up and I absolutely loved my salad bowl of 3 impressive salads - scrumptious and refreshingly tasty and satisfying."

"My partner came here yesterday for an afternoon meal, though not what we anticipated. We looked at the menu and noticed all day breakfast. And so ordering a Corn Fritter (I think) and a Big Breakfast and two mug size flat white coffees For my order, I ordered a change, instead of tomatoes, went with extra spinach. Though I naturally assumed that the spinach was cooked, instead no, it was instead served fresh a spinach leaves. No matter, a slight inconvenience, everything else was pristine. The second and perhaps not really a deal breaker, the establishment, unless you've parked at the Maccas carpark, you will be able to spot this place. However if you're parked elsewhere, it might be a bit difficult to see, as you have to traverse down the stairs to the entrance, almost like a pit. In any case cooked fresh and definitely gave us a smile on our faces. Thanks."

"This place is amazing! The food was not only delicious, but really good value for money. The menu varies enough to be interesting, but is small enough for them to do everything well. Coffee, after an initial hit of flavour that is slightly bitter, was absolutely delicious (so bear with it). Perfectly made with good latte art, I would have had another if it wasn't for the queue. Which brings me onto the only negative: it's popularity! Expect to queue for a table, and in our case there was a 30 minute wait on food. But trust me, it's worth it! Places like this are busy for a reason: they're really, really good! Highchairs are available, though there isn't a huge amount of room inside to use them. Staff friendly, and loads of parking available in the Maccas next door. Honestly, if it wasn't 2 hours away we'd be back every week. Go here!"
